The Founder
Founded by Charudatta Neelkanth Gokhale, Gokhale Herbals is more than a brand—it is a movement born from 40 years of innovation and a deep-rooted love for the city of Pune.
Our Journey: From Communication to Conservation
Our story began in 1980. From creating the iconic “Pune Darshan” logo to launching the world’s first vegetarian lipstick in 2005 through Vishwamitra Laboratories, our mission has always been to innovate for the betterment of society.
However, in 2014, a new calling emerged. While working with the NGO Jivit Nadi, our founder realised a startling truth: while our awareness about plastic was growing, our rivers were dying from a “silent killer”—the chemicals from our own kitchens and bathrooms.
Every day, Pune city generates 999 MLD of sewage. With only a fraction being treated, massive amounts of toxic, carcinogenic chemicals from household cleaners flow directly into our sacred rivers.

The Birth of Gokhale Eco Wash
In 2017, we launched Gokhale Eco Wash. We moved beyond just spreading awareness; we provided a solution. Our products are crafted to ensure that every drop of water leaving your home is 100% safe for the environment.
